Antique Caucasian Kazak Rug, Country of Origin: Caucasus, Circa Date: Mid 20th Century– A perfectly geometric design in Camel, Purple and cream, this Caucasian Kazak rug features a rectangular central banner bounded by a complex border. Three red diamonds holding intricate figures within stack vertically, edged with stair-step lines that demarcate solid-colored areas. Additional diamond forms flank the middle pieces of the Kazak, offset by small circular designs. A stark white and red trim of zigzags leads to the outer border. Composed of a pair of Beige-backed strips surrounding a central, wider band of cream, this edging showcases more diamond shapes, each identical in form but shifting through the warm palette. A pair of triangles snugly fills each space between these figures.
