Hand knotted in a village around Hamadan, western Iran. Hamadan rugs can originate from any one of hundreds of villages across the vast region. While materials used can vary from one village to another, one uniting characteristic of this area is that virtually all Hamadan rugs are single-wefted, unlike most tribal rugs which are double-wefted. This particular Persian antique rug is in excellent condition and has superb quality wool that must be felt to be fully realized. As far as Hamadans go, this piece is outstanding.

Cyrus and the rest of the team are fabulous. From the art history and crafts lesson we got in store as he walked us through the rugs in the showroom to his willingness to bring multiple rugs to my home to try them out to make sure the one I chose was just right, it was a terrific experience all around. I’m so happy with my new, soft Gabbeh rug
