A Rare And Beautiful Rust Background Color Antique Rustic Persian Serapi Rug, Country of Origin: Persian, Circa Date: 1880 – The antique Persian Heriz Serapi rugs are beautiful and exciting antique rugs that exemplify the very best of Northwest Persian rug weaving weaving. Magnificent antique Persian rugs, such as this piece, feature bold geometric area rug style of designs with a classic and iconic anchor medallion design.
This magnificent Persian Serapi Heriz rug features an enrapturing reciprocating main border. This border is filled with beautiful tribal classic elements and bracketed rosettes in alternating colors that beautifully juxtapose and seem to almost be floating against the richer poly chrome rustic red border background color.
As is the case with the older and more interesting antique Persian Serapi carpets, this piece boasts a more open approach to the design. While there is a lot of pattern in this beautifully casual elegant rug, by adding more negative space between the different design elements, and using softer colors that we normally see, the weavers were able to make this piece feel open, happy and not at all busy.
Another phenomenal aspect of this piece is its rustic coloration. The play between the lighter and richer reds, darker and light blues, greens and Ivories combine to create an unexpected and harmonious feel and one of the more happy yet fascinating rustic rugs. While there are a lot of colors as well as patterns, this antique Persian Serapi rug radiates joy and happiness – a sentiment to the great achievement of the weavers who created this breathtaking piece.
While this piece is a more classic configuration of an antique Persian Serapi rug, its use of color and the way the designed was rendered, it quite unusual and special. Area rugs are truly versatile which is why the make a great option for a classic, traditional and even modern home interior design. Needless to say, if you are looking to buy rugs for your home, one does not need to be a true collector of area rugs or art to appreciate the beauty and chieftainship of this truly magnificent work of textile art.
